Tee Ball (Little Sluggers) is the entry level co-ed division for players, ages 2-5 that focuses on fun and fundamentals.
Our Tee Ball program provides volunteer coaches with everything they need to create an environment where players will learn the skills of the game, while having fun and staying active.
Often, a family’s first introduction to Baseball or Softball is in the Tee Ball program. Hence, we understand the importance of this experience being a good one.
At this introductory developmental level things are taken very lightly.
We realize at this age children may have a different desire to play moment to moment. Therefore, in the Tee Ball division there is no requirement as to how many games or practices a child attends.
Furthermore, there is also no expectation as to a how long a child is able to participate.
Regardless of when it happens, young children often need to use the restroom, grab a drink or just simply need to take break. That said, we stress to our coaches the importance of staying flexible and allowing parents and guardians to figure out what's the right balance for their child.
Putting safety first, Tee Ball players use bats and balls designated specifically for use in this division.
The roster size for a Tee Ball team is 6-10 players, with a season of roughly 8-10 games.
A typical week for a Tee Baller consists of (2) 45 minutes to 60-minute games, with 1 game played on a weekday and 1 weekend game (most likely a Saturday).
At the younger ages each player is required to play one season of Tee Ball before being eligible to be evaluated by league officials for consideration to advance to a higher division.
